Rich spray of silver on copper. There are twinned tetra hexahedrons on the piece and typical complex and muted growth habits. Note the chisel cut on the copper: miners typically would 'collect' silver masses and crystals by chiseling off pure chunks that grew on copper and sell them as bullion to jewelers for extra cash. Many, many fantastic specimens of silver ended up in the crucible to be later transformed into necklaces, rings and findings for gemstones. This piece bears the hallmarks of this great era in mining history of the Copper Country. A very impressive 'Half-Breed' from the district. Collection of Dan Haskins, Elmhurst, IL.
