Fluorite, Bethel Level M.F. Oxford Mine #7, Ozark-Mahoning Company, Cave-in-Rock District, Southern Illinois, Mined ca. 1970s, Holzner Collection #767, Miniature 3.6 x 4.0 x 5.4 cm, $250. Online 5/1
A rare specimen from the district. Richly zoned butterscotch yellow and light blue fluorite with a hint of light purple between the color zones. Documented specimens from Ozark-Mahoning's Bethel Level portion of the Cave-in-Rock district are really rare. I would recognize this specimen as one of their shafts, attributed to M.F. Oxford #7, but the label came with the description as such. In excellent condition. Mined circa. 1970s. Ken & Marilee Holzner Collection #767. Entered into Ross C. Lillie database as RCL2652.
