Sheet of exceptionally sharp copper crystals, 7.5 x 8 cm, exhibiting branching and modified Spinel Law twins. This location is one of the most venerable areas in the former Russian empire and fine specimens such as this piece are rare on todays market and those on matrix even more so. The specimen has an intriguing provenance: ex: Emperor San Pedro of Brazil; ex: Cassirer; ex: Keith Proctor; ex: Stan Woollams #799. In excellent condition with fine original patina. Mined c. 1800s probably in the early part of the century or perhaps even in the late 18th century.
