Mounded group of smoky gray calcite (crystals typically 2.5 cm) showing very sharp, modified scalenohedrons. The quarry was well known by local collectors but fine minerals were rare from the locality. A series of pockets changed the reputation of the quarry and a number of very fine calcites were preserved by careful collecting from a serendipitous find in the mid-1990s. This is a very fine miniature from the location and in excellent condition.
