Transparent, purplish-brown, shiny axinite with no point of attachment. Collected ca. 1986 from the fantastic find during the construction of the New Melones Dam. The pocket was found when a construction vehicle collapsed through the cavity and exposed, arguably, the most significant axinite find in North America. In excellent condition. Rare on the market. Betty Kalaskie Collection #491: acquired 1988.
