The Deardorff Mine was the richest stratiform orebody ever mined in the district. Unfortunately for mineral collectors, the best sections of the mine were exploited in the late 1930s through the 1950s and as such the vast majority of specimens went to the crusher. However, a few choice specimens were saved such as this fine miniature from mining ca. 1950s. Pretty combination of zoned light purple fluorite with light quartz druse and associated sphalerite. In excellent condition. Betty Kalaskie Collection #42-60.
