In November 1987, I received a phone call from one of the miners that worked in the Annabel Lee Mine. He said they had struck 'gold' and that I should drive down immediately to se the new specimens. He was speaking metaphorically (of course) about a find of celestite which, prior to the opening of the Annabel Lee Mine, was exceedingly rare from the district. This piece came from that first lot. Advance mining November 1987. In excellent condition and shows the 2 stages of crystallization, 1st as massive, sponge-like celestite and 2ndry stage as prismatic lustrous grayish/blue crystals. Betty Kalaskie Collection #608.
