Prior to the opening of the Annabel Lee Mine, celestite was an exceedingly rare mineral from Southern Illinois. However, a series of pockets were found in the late 1980's that rewrote the book for celestite occurrences in the district. This specimen is a group of discoidal crystals with bright luster and classic light blue-gray color. In top condition.
