A sharp pseudomorph of barite after celestite, 1.3 cm crystal with sharp rhombohedral faces, perched on top of white barite. The matrix is sponge-like, episodic barite that appears pseudomorphic as well. The location is most likely the Annabel Lee mine but there is no way to confirm since the collection was built from the late 1950s through about 1981: the Annabel Lee mine did not open until 1985 but it is possible that Mr. Fowler was given this after he retired in 1981. In any event, a very excellent and rare pseudomorph from the district. Wayne Fowler Collection.
