Richly zoned purple fluorite with associated calcite and barite. Documented specimens from the Spivey Mine are exceedingly rare. This is not because they were rare in the mine but really due to the fact that nobody differentiated them from other mines. I had an early collection of southern Illinois minerals that I sold in the early 1980s. Thee were several Spivey Mine specimens in the lot: fluorite, calcite and barite and in appearance very similar to Denton Mine minerals.
