Bright and beautiful combination of transparent quartz and bladed rosettes of black hematite. The quartz is colored a reddish tinge from micro hematite and the specimen is crystallized on all sides with only a contact point at the base. These were abundant several years ago but like all mining locations the occurrence has dried up and pieces are only available from collections or perhaps old dealer stock. This specimen was acquired by Dr. J. Gebel around 2005 and is mounted on a high quality custom base with label by the Sunnywood Collection. On the back of the top left side there are a couple of missing crystals broken off flush with the matrix and do not detract nor are they visible from the front. An excellent specimen overall.
