Saxony is an amazing district in terms of mineral species produced and years of production. One can still take an underground there that starts with workings in the 1960s-1970s and stages into the Medieval era, a span of five centuries. It is one of the most venerable districts in Europe. This specimen is from the collection of Jorg Walther. Mr. Walther lives in the district and collects only those minerals produced from Saxony. His attention to detail is superb and the breadth of his collection amazing. This is a choice miniature of Romanechite in top condition. His number 1264.
