Quartz, Mountain Due Prospect, McCurtain County, Oklahoma, Dr. David London Collection L-137, Medium Cabinet 4.5 x 9.0 x 11 cm, $300. Online Sept. 30.

A group of transparent very sharp gemmy quartz crystals with no point of attachment. In top condition. London collected the piece with Cephis Hall and Steve Due. "They called it the Mountain Due location because Steve found it (the locality). " Mr. Due told London "that his grandfather was a famous bootlegger in the region and that once a year the Governor of Arkansas would send a detail of highway patrol cars to buy a few cases to take back for the Governor." Dr. London did not discount the story as he personally met a moonshiner "while collecting with Hall". A choice specimen from a rare location.
