Joerg Walther Collection
Mr. Walther has been collecting Saxony minerals from many years and has amassed one of the most important suite from the region. The collection is not limited to just the classic Freiberg mines but to any notable mineral occurrence in the area including obscure mines, quarries and outcroppings. The minerals are superbly documented with typical data including the mine name, mine level and sometimes the stope and vein designation. I have always respected and valued locality collections as they show great depth in terms of species and locations within the district. It is an excellent collection rich in mining history and fine quality minerals.
